The Cougars picked up a key MTC win on Tuesday as they knocked off the Weber Township Trojans by a score of 10-2.

 

Starting pitcher Cole Armstrong earned his 3rd win as he tossed 6 innings allowing 2 unearned runs on 5 hits, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Colton Wilkins closed out a scoreless 7th with two strikeouts.

 

Offensively, Wilkins gave the Cougars their first two runs with a 2-run double in the first. Then in the next inning, he added a single to drive in another.

 

Larry Schoreck also had a big day at the plate as he singled twice, doubled in a pair of runs in the second, and totaled 3 RBI's.

 

Colby Bushue, Bret Pitts, and Heath Hoffmann contributed to the cause with two hits apiece.

 

The Cougars return to action on Friday night as they host the Woodlawn Cardinals in a 7:00 PM matchup that will determine the  leader in the MTC standings.
