Cougars Score Back-to-Back
Wins Over Odin
The Cougars finished up regular season play with a 13-7 victory over Odin on Friday, then turned the trick
again on Monday when they handled the Eagles 10-0 in the first round of the MTC Tournament held at Lions Field.
On Friday, Tanner Bushue picked up his 5th win of the season pitching the first five innings allowing 2 runs
on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 10 strikeouts. Marcus Hicks finished the last two giving up 5 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Cougars were led by Lance Schneider as he banged out a pair of singles and a double in his
four trips to the plate.
Other Cougars with multiple hit games were Will Crain, Aaron Robb, and Luke Smith with two safeties each.
On Monday, Marcus Hicks got the win with a complete-game performance pitching all six innings allowing no
runs on 4 hits, no walks, and 8 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Cougars took advantage of six Odin errors and stole eight bases to go along with eight hits
to account for most of the damage.
Leading the way were Justin Armstrong and Devin Hall with two hits apiece.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday when the battle the Clay City Wolves in semi-final action at 7:00
PM.
