Cougars Shutout In
Loss To Stew-Stras
The Cougars took one on the chin Wednesday evening as they fell to the visiting Stew-Stras Comets by a score
of 9-0.
Starting pitcher Tanner Bushue was tagged with the loss as he allowed 2 runs in five innings on 3 hits, 6
strikeouts, and no walks.
The first run came when the second pitch of the game was lofted over the boards in center for a solo home
run and the second one scored on a two-base fielding error and an RBI single.
Ryan Gesell relieved Bushue in the sixth and was touched for four runs on a pair of walks, an RBI single,
and a two-run homer. The Comets tacked on three more in the seventh on another walk, a single, and back-to-back doubles.
The offense was stagnant again as Comet pitcher Jaden Widdershiem held the Cougars to three hits in a complete-game
performance.
Tyler Gillett was the lone bright spot as he collected a pair of singles in three at-bats.
The Cougars return to action on Thursday when they host the Brownstown Bombers at 4:30 PM
