After a hot spell over the last few games, the Cougar bats took the day off in a 3-1 loss to the Centralia Orphans on Tuesday.

 

Pounding out 60 hits in their last six games, the Cougars managed just five hits on the day.

 

Shane Donoho was one of the few bright spots as he connected for a two-out triple in the 2nd but was stranded there when a strikeout ended the inning.

 

The Cougars did have another chance in the 3rd with the bases loaded and one out, but a ground ball double play ended that threat.

 

They finally did get on the board in the 4th when Kyle Monical’s grounder to short was mishandled with runners at the corners.

 

Tanner Bushue suffered the tough-luck loss allowing just one earned run on 4 hits, 4 walks, and 10 strikeouts.

 

The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday when the travel to Noble to battle the Wildcats at 4:30 PM.
