Cougars Split Pair
Of Weekend Games

The Cougars took advanatage of Saturday's nice weather and organized a three-way double-header at Lions Field with Salem and Woodlawn.

In game one, the Cougars got a stellar pitching performance from sophomore Derek Harmeier as they slipped past Woodlawn

1-0.

He shutout the Cardinals on 3 hits, allowing 1 walk with 4 strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Tanner Bushue supplied all the offense the Cougars would need when he blasted a solo home run in the fourth for the game's only run.

In game two, Salem got a go-ahead run in the top of the seventh to squeak past Woodlawn 3-2.

In the final game of the day, Salem jumped all over the Cougar pitching to score ten runs in their first two at-bats and never looked back in the 12-2 rout.

The only highlights in the game for the Cougars came in the third when they scored two runs on a walk, a Ryan Gesell double, and RBI single from Kyle Monical, and a sac fly off the bat of Ian King.

The Cougars return to action next Tuesday when they host the Flora Wolves at 4:30 PM.
