Cougars Run Winning Streak
To Six With Pair Of Wins

The Cougar offense continued its torrid pace by racking up 24 more runs in back-to-back wins over Flora and Patoka to run their winning steak to six straight games.

On Monday, the Cougars banged out 14 hits, five of them coming via the longball, as they bombed the host Flora  Wolves 15-7 in a wild, wind-blown afair.

Tyler Gillet smacked a pair of solo shots and Cole Armstrong, Dylan Sill, and Ryan Gesell also went deep to account for most of the damage.

Armstrong stayed red-hot with three hits in four at-bats and finished with six RBI's on the day. Colby Bushue, Bret Pitts, Sill and Gesell all finished with two hits apeice to lead the offensive onslaught.

Derek Harmeier picked up win number two on the season pitching six effective innings allowing all 7 runs (6 earned) on 9 hits, 3 walks, and 9 strikeouts.

On Tuesday, the Cougars fell behind the visiting Patoka Warriors 5-0 after one inning, but came roaring back to pull out the 9-7 win on another wind-swept day.

Gillett came up big again as he singled twice and accounted for 4 RBI's when the Cougars made their charge. Armstrong also added a single, a double, and an RBI and Kyle Monical reached base safely with a pair of singles.

Although Gillett struggled from the mound with his control by allowing 5 runs in the first on a home run, two walks, and four singles, reliever Ryan Gesell pitched four strong innings to notch his second win of the season. He allowed just two runs (one earned) on 3 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts.

The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Efffingham to battle the St. Anthony Bulldogs at 4:30 PM.
