The Cougars kept their unbeaten streak
intact as they closed out week two with a pair of wins over Brownstown and Sandoval.
On Thursday, the Cougars piled up 19 hits and took advantage of 8 Brownstown
errors enroute to their 20-0 thrashing of the Bombers.
Cole Armstrong picked up the win, pitching two innings of hitless ball and
Shawn Meyer recorded a save allowing the only Bomber hit with one out in the fifth.
Offensively, five Cougar players notched two hits apiece to lead the onslaught.
On Friday, the Cougars picked up their second MTC win by downing
the Sandoval Blackhawks 11-0 to run their conference record to 2-0.
Colby Bushue ran his season record to 2-0 with the complete game win allowing no
runs on 4 hits, no walks, and 7 strikeouts.
He was also lethal at the plate as he rapped 3 doubles and scored twice to
lead the offensive barrage. Fischer Tharp laced 3 singles and drove in two, while Colton Wilkins doubled twice and had 3 RBI's.
The Cougars return to action next Tuesday when the travel to Bluford to battle
the Weber Twp. Trojans for another key MTC matchup at 4:30 PM.
