Cougars Win Again,
Defeat Casey-Westfield
The Cougars continued their winning ways Friday when they traveled to Casey and picked up win #9 with a 6-2
victory over the Warriors.
Starting pitcher Nick Simmons upped his record to 2-1 with six innings of work, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and
5 strikeouts, and Tyler Mulvany pitched the 7th to pick-up his third save.
Offensively, the Cougars scored their first run on an RBI single by Chad King in the 2nd. They added three
more in the fourth on RBI's from Simmons and Mulvany, then tacked on their final run in the 7th when pinch-hitter Will Crain
plated a run on an RBI groundout.
By games end, the Cougars had racked-up 13 hits and leading the way was Spencer Patton with a pair of singles,
a double, and one RBI. Other multi-hit contributors were Wade Crain, James Gile, and Robert Slater with two safeties
apiece.
The Cougars are back in action on Monday when they host the Vandalia Vandals at 4:30 PM.
