Cougars Bomb the Bombers
The Cougars may have set a record tonight for the shortest game ever played when they blasted the visting
Brownstown Bombers 12-0 in five innings. From start to finish, this one took all of 50 minutes to play.
Wade Crain grabbed all the headlines in this game as he launched a first-inning grand slam and came
within one walk of a perfect game to run his pitching record to 1-1 on the season.
The Cougar offense came out of the gates with a fury. They sent twelve men to the plate in the first
inning and after the dust had settled found themselves up 8-0.
Highlights of the uprising were back-to-back RBI doubles from Aaron Robb and Tanner Bushue along with Wade
Crain's bases-clearing homer.
In the second frame the Cougars added two more runs, one coming on a 2-out solo home run off the bat of Zac
Cain.
The Cougars scored their final two runs in the fourth when Cain picked up two more RBI's on a double that
followed a leadoff walk to Robb and Bushue's second two-bagger of the game.
From the mound, Wade Crain was dominating as he threw only 49 pitches, allowing just one walk and no hits
in the complete game performance.
The Cougars are back in action next Monday when they host the Flora Wolves at 4:30 PM.
