Cougars Victorious Over
St. Anthony and Odin

The Cougars added two more games to the win column as they started their final week of the regular season with wins over Effingham St. Anthony on Monday and Odin on Tuesday.

Against St. Anthony, Tanner Bushue pitched seven strong innings and the Cougar offense got some timely hitting in the 7-2 victory over the Bulldogs.

Except for a fourth inning walk and a two-run homer off the bat of the Bulldog's Anthony Hecht, Bushue was nearly untouchable. He allowed only one other hit and no other baserunners in a complete game effort while striking out twelve to run his record to 3-2 on the season.

Offensively, Wade Crain was the only Cougar with more than one hit as he cracked a pair of singles with an RBI. Aaron Robb picked up two RBI's with an inside-the-park home run and Shea Burton popped one over the boards for his first homer of the year.

On Tuesday, the Cougars scored ten runs in the first inning and Lance Schneider tossed a five inning no-hitter to propel them past the visting Odin Eagles 14-0.

Tanner Bushue picked up five RBI's in the big first inning when he smoked a 3-run homer in his first at-bat, then drove in two more when he tripled after the Cougars batted around to his spot in the order again.

Schneider (3-2) was only a first inning walk away from a perfect game as he allowed no hits on one walk and six strikeouts.

The Cougars hit the road on Wednesday when they travel to Olney to battle the Tigers at 4:30 PM.
