After losing two games to mother nature at the end of last week, the Cougars added a last-minute game to the schedule on Monday when they traveled to North Clay and defeated the Cardinals 8-5.

 

Will Crain got the win in relief of starter Aaron Robb after he pitched the third and fourth innings allowing 4 runs on 4 hits, 0 walks, and 1 strikeout. Lance Schneider picked-up the save by allowing just a single run over the last three innings.

 

Offensively, the Cougars were paced by Zac Cain's single, two home runs, and four RBI's. Also joining in on the fun were Heath Sigrist and Schneider. Sigrist belted four singles while Schneider had three.

 

The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday when they host their first ever post-season regional. They are scheduled to play at 4:30 PM against Tuesday's first-round winner between Sandoval and Mulberry Grove.
