Cougars Top Altamont
For First Win
The Cougars struggled with the bats and in the field, but managed to hold off Altamont 4-3 to grab their first
win of the season.
Starter and winning pitcher Ian King tossed 5 1/3 innings, allowing 3 unearned runs on 4 hits, 3 walks, and
2 strikeouts. Derek Harmeier collected the save as he pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 to close out the game.
The Cougar defense ruined several opportunities to shutout the Indians as they committed four crucial fielding
errors to let Altamont get on the scoreboard.
Offensively, the Cougars managed only 4 hits and were led by Tyler Gillett with a double and an RBI. Isaac
Grapperhaus also collected a double, his second in as many games.
The Cougars are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Clay City to battle the Wolves.
